Reusable practice kit

Device care calendar

A small recurring record for updates, support dates, protection checks, and retirement.

TARGET PRACTICE

What the completed kit should do

Unsupported or unmanaged equipment becomes visible before it creates an emergency.

FIELDS

Capture these facts in your approved system

  • Device label, assigned owner, business purpose, and physical location
  • Operating system, support date, automatic update state, and last restart
  • Screen lock, encryption, protection, backup, and remote-management state
  • Business accounts, replacement date, retirement method, and disposal evidence
  • Reviewer, review date, exception, next action, and next check
SEQUENCE

Use the structure in this order

  1. 01

Inventory devices that reach business accounts or data.

  2. 02

    Record support and protection basics.

  3. 03

    Schedule updates, testing, and replacement.

  4. 04

Retire and erase equipment through an approved method.

DONE WHEN

Close the practice loop

Every listed device has an owner, support status, next action, and safe retirement path.

CAUTION

Protect the completed record

  • Do not publish device identifiers, addresses, security configurations, or recovery keys.
  • Specialized equipment may need vendor-approved update and testing procedures.
  • A checkmark is not proof that a device is free from compromise.
